Bortnik: Ukraine's ban on vehicles with Pridnestrovian license plates can be agreed upon with Moldova

The restriction on the entry into the territory of Ukraine of vehicles with license plates of the Transnistrian Republic looks like pressure from Ukraine on Russia and can be agreed upon with Moldova.

Director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management Ruslan Bortnik stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“This may well be an element of a coordinated policy between Ukraine and Moldova, although they say that Moldova has nothing to do with it, it agrees to extend the transit period. But all this looks like an instrument of pressure on Transnistria; Ukraine proceeds from the fact that Russia is behind it. All this looks like another element of the game with Russia.

Of course, this will create inconvenience for some people living in Transnistria, some of whom, by the way, are citizens of Ukraine. But still, this does not bring anything critical for the region. This is not about a blockade, but about restricting the passage of cars and vehicles with Pridnestrovian license plates,” says Bortnik.
