Britain sends 70 intelligence officers and special forces instructors to help Ukraine
Great Britain promised to strengthen military support for Ukraine in order to “protect freedom and democracy,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by The Daily Telegraph newspaper, publishing excerpts from a statement that the United Kingdom Defense Minister Gavin Williamson plans to make on Wednesday.
An additional number of British troops will be stationed in Ukraine, the publication quotes Williamson as saying. In particular, they will train Ukrainian special forces and marines. In addition, according to the minister, the British Navy's multi-purpose hydrographic reconnaissance ship Echo with a crew of 72 people will be stationed in the region.
“While Ukraine faces Russian aggressive actions, it will find a decisive partner in the United Kingdom,” the newspaper quotes the head of the British Ministry of Defense.
“By continuing to work together through training programs or military exercises, we are helping Ukraine stand up for freedom and democracy,” Williamson said.
