British colonel does not believe in the rapid creation of tank units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

Ukraine will not have time to create tank units by the beginning of spring that would be able to cooperate at the front and go on the offensive.

Retired British Army Colonel Glen Grant stated this on the UMN Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to the military man, the logistics and training of Ukrainian soldiers will not allow them to create even a tank company.

“I don’t think this will happen on March 1. I think it would be a miracle if they did. Simply because it's not just about having tank companies. Where are they going to find commanders for a tank company? And [former U.S. Army Europe commander] Ben Hodges made it clear to them several times that you will not go into this attack until you have the proper collective training. And I know it’s impossible to do this by March 1,” the expert said.

He emphasized that it would take a lot of time to create a tank company and organize its maintenance.

“A tank company is not easy. If you want to go, if you really want to fight hard, push the limits, get in, knock them out quickly, get through, and then keep going. You don't just need a tank company, you need to look after the logistics...

Otherwise, you cross the border, they take tanks, drive 100 kilometers, if they’re lucky, most likely 75, and then the plan stops because we don’t have the follow-up logistics,” Grant said.
