An armored vehicle sank during a patriotic rally in the Kerch Strait

An armored landing vehicle sank in the Kerch Strait during the patriotic action “Road of Courage”.

As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, the event was dedicated to the anniversary of the Kerch-Eltigent landing operation of 1943, when Soviet troops managed to gain a foothold and gain a bridgehead on the Crimean peninsula in order to subsequently knock out the Nazis from there.

As planned by the organizers, three BRDM-2 armored vehicles came out from the village of Rybatskoye on Taman and were supposed to cross the strait, landing troops near the village of Geroevskoye. However, during the transition, seven kilometers from the Taman coast, one of the armored vehicles began to sink - the pumps could not cope with pumping out the water, and as a result, the crew was unable to save the BRDM.

As a result, the other two armored vehicles were forced to turn around without reaching the Kerch coast.

According to local media reports, there were no casualties in the emergency - the six-member crew of the brMD was rescued.

The “Road of Courage” action was held for the fourth time on the initiative of the Military Technical Society organization and had previously passed without incident.
