Budapest officially accused Poroshenko personally of oppressing the Hungarians of Transcarpathia
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó believes that the oppression of Hungarians by the Ukrainian state will not stop as long as Ukraine is headed by the current president. Petro Poroshenko, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.

“As long as Ukraine is led by the current president, incitement to hatred of Hungarians on the part of the Ukrainian state will not stop, since the president considers this a way to gain a certain public support, which is now very low,” the agency quotes the minister.
“Next year’s elections could lead to a change in the situation,” Szijjarto said.
A meeting between Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin and his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjártó has now begun in New York.
The meeting is taking place against the backdrop of another crisis in relations between Budapest and Kyiv. This was led to by a video from the ceremony of granting citizenship to Transcarpathian residents, which took place at the consulate in Beregovo. In the video, the consul urged Transcarpathians to hide their second citizenship from the Ukrainian authorities.
