Bukovinian smugglers blocked Ukrainian border guards, who had to shoot back
In the Chernivtsi region, a group of local smugglers blocked the border department.

About it reports the press center of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
“So, about 5 off-road vehicles attempted to prevent vehicles from leaving the territory of the Selyatin department. The unit's duty forces were immediately put on alert. The efforts of the head of the department to peacefully stop the illegal actions were not successful, but on the contrary, unknown persons created a threat to the lives of the border guards, to which the latter applied preventive coercive measures. After which the cars left the department in the direction of the village of Selyatin,” the message says.
The incident was reported to the National Police, the SBU Department in the Chernivtsi region and the military prosecutor's office of the Chernivtsi garrison, in addition, security at the military camp was strengthened.
The department also noted that previously border guards had repeatedly received threats from local residents and recorded various kinds of demonstrative actions that could compromise them.
“The State Border Service notes that, despite the resistance of the organizers of criminal schemes, measures to tighten the border regime and combat illegal activities at the border will continue and intensify,” the State Border Guard Service warned.
Let us remind you that recently a group of local residents blocked a border guard squad in Transcarpathia. The thing is that for many residents of border areas, smuggling is the only way to somehow survive in an impoverished country with closed industries and mass unemployment.
