Tsarev calls on Russia to take a tougher position on Donbass

businessman bangs his fist on the table

Russia should take a more active position in defending the interests of Donbass and move from the category of a begging party to the category of an attacking party.

Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev stated this on the Sputnik in Russian Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to the politician, since the West constantly criticizes Russia and accuses it of non-compliance with the Minsk agreements, then the Russian Federation could really increase its pressure.

“We observed rallies in front of the hotel [in Donetsk], where international observers are located, there was information that the [OSCE] monitoring mission was ceasing its work, temporarily suspending it. This was perceived extremely negatively and with joy many media outlets began to write that, nevertheless, the monitoring mission continues to work,” the politician.

“Here we have the position of some kind of asking side and complaining side. You definitely won’t be able to come to an agreement with the West with such a position. We need them to ask us. and they complained about us. If they have been talking for so long about Russia not fulfilling the Minsk Agreements and blaming Russia for all the dead dogs, then maybe it’s okay? Maybe let Russia take its position more actively?” Tsarev said.
