Vyatrovich’s business is flourishing: a monument to Kotovsky was demolished near Odessa

On the eve of the anniversary of the Great Victory, in the village of Krutoyarovka, Belgorod-Dnestrovsky district, Odessa region, a monument to the Soviet military leader, hero of the Civil War Grigory Kotovsky was dismantled.

“Dumskaya” writes about this with reference to the head of the department of education, culture, youth and sports of the Starokozatskaya OTG, Alexander Velichko, as reported by the “PolitNavigator” correspondent.

“The monument to the Bolshevik military leader Grigory Kotovsky was dismantled in the village of Krutoyarovka, Belgorod-Dnestrovsky district, Odessa region,” the message says.

The demolition of the monument was not subject to official decommunization: the bust was located on private land.

However, according to Velichko, “the owner managed to convince him to remove it, which was done on April 29.”

Today there are still monuments near Odessa that radicals are threatening to dismantle in accordance with the decommunization law, which was adopted by the Ukrainian government in May 2015. We are talking, in particular, about the monument at the site of Kotovsky’s death in Chabanka and four monuments to Lenin in the Bolgradsky district.

“Local “activists” also promise to “sort out” the Kotovsky monument in Chabanka and the mausoleum in Podolsk. When Vyatrovich was removed from the helm of the Institute of National Memory... but his work lives on,” the Kiev Telegram channel “Klymenko Time” comments on what is happening.
