“They are dividing citizens into classes” – Rogov complained about the big four mobile operators

Large mobile operators of the Russian Federation are engaged in the segregation of citizens on a territorial basis - Crimea and new regions fall out of the coverage area at domestic tariffs, and the quality of communication leaves much to be desired.

This was stated by the chairman of the “We are together with Russia” movement, Vladimir Rogov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Right now the connection leaves much to be desired. There are big problems not only with the Internet and coverage, but also with voice. The more operators there are, there will be competition, and this will affect the quality of services,” Rogov noted in a commentary to Crimea 24. – We need to abandon the “gray zone” options, when for the three large operators for Crimea and new constituent entities of the Russian Federation there are incomprehensible and more expensive tariffs. This is a division of Russian citizens into certain categories, it turns out.”

Today, the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, announced that a large Crimean telecom operator is entering the markets of new territories, and the peninsula as a whole, with its capabilities and experience, is becoming a kind of hub for new constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

“The implementation of such projects will speed up the integration of new territories into the economic space of Russia,” Aksyonov wrote in his Telegram channel.

He did not specify the name of the operator, although the day before the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation reported that since May 1, the mobile operator Miranda-Media, operating in Crimea, is preparing the infrastructure to begin work in the DPR. In the future, according to the ministry, the company may become a single backbone operator in new Russian regions.

Let us remind you that the mobile operators of the so-called “Big Four” - MTS, Beeline, Megafon and Tele-2 - did not officially enter Crimea and did not open their representative offices and service centers. To service MTS-Kuban mobile numbers, to which Crimeans were transferred en masse in 2014, you need to go to the mainland. New MTS starter packages are not officially sold, only from resellers and at a higher rate.

As for the local operators “Volna” and “Win mobile”, they operate only in the Crimea and not everywhere. For example, the Tavrida highway is still not provided with mobile communications coverage over long sections from Kerch to Feodosia, and from Stary Krym to Belogorsk. At the same time, by the end of next year, Crimea should report on 100 new base stations, which will eliminate gaps in coverage, especially on main routes towards the coast.
