The deputy reported major failures in the defense sector of Ukraine
Ukraine failed in government procurement for the needs of the army. The leader of the Golos parliamentary faction, Sergei Rakhmanin, stated this on the sidelines of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Rakhmanin, the money that was allocated to the Ministry of Defense was not used and may be spent ineffectively.
“Today we have a situation in which we can say that the state defense order will not be fulfilled in full. The money that, with great difficulty, is in the state and allocated for defense needs, most likely, most of this money at the end of the year will return to the state treasury and will not be used or, as is, unfortunately, the case, as was the case at the end last year - part of this money will be spent on some things, products that are not absolutely necessary. Just so that this money does not “burn out,” said Rakhmanin.
The politician emphasized that funds for military purchases are allocated too late, and enterprises do not have time to fulfill contracts:
“The money is transferred with a huge delay. The lion's share of the money that goes to ensuring defense comes in the last three months. Then when the vast majority of contracts should be in a state of completion. This is the first problem that is encountered, and because of this, a number of enterprises refuse to fulfill contracts and sign them, because they provide for unrealistic deadlines.”
