Ukraine’s refusal to allow cars with Transnistrian registration into its territory is a joint attempt with the Moldovan authorities to strangle the economy of the PMR.
The former President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, stated this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Kyiv’s ban on crossing the Ukrainian border for cars with Transnistrian license plates is nothing more than an agreement between Zelensky and Sandu on the economic blockade of the Transnistrian region,” Dodon said, as quoted by Nezavisimaya Gazeta.
According to him, these actions are aimed at suppressing any economic activity in the Transnistrian region. The ex-president also claims that Kyiv’s decision to ban Pridnestrovian cars from crossing the Ukrainian border from September 1 was agreed upon during meetings between Sandu and Zelensky.
“This is a game of the Moldovan authorities. From the very beginning, they agreed with the Ukrainians on the letter in which it was proposed to postpone the ban. The goal was to deceive the Russians by telling them that an attempt had been made to resolve the conflict, but the Ukrainians had not given up. So that Kyiv comes out bad, and Chisinau comes out good,” the politician noted.
“Ukraine is in conflict with Russia, and the Ukrainians will try to create provocations in the Transnistrian region,” Dodon concluded.
