Dodon was obliged to dissolve the Parliament of Moldova and announce new elections

The President of Moldova is obliged to dissolve parliament and set a date for early elections if, within three months after approval of the election results, the parliament was unable to form a new government, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

This decision was made today by the Constitutional Court of Moldova, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

The Constitutional Court approved the mandates of deputies of the current parliament on March 9. It follows from the decision of the Constitutional Court that if parliament was unable to approve the government before June 9, then starting from June 10 the president can sign a decree dissolving parliament and setting a date for early elections.

The decision of the Constitutional Court came a few minutes after President Igor Dodon said that it was not possible to create a ruling coalition and a new government in the country. He promised to once again appeal to the Constitutional Court to approve the decision to dissolve parliament.
