After Ukraine declared an anti-Russian course as its official and only doctrine, a number of regions of the former Soviet republic - primarily Donbass - have every right to implement the Crimean scenario for reunification with Russia.
Historian, political scientist, director of the Central Museum of Taurida Andrei Malgin stated this during the Moscow-Simferopol teleconference, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Since the Ukrainian consensus is to develop as an independent state, moreover, a state hostile to Russia, then regions that are inclined to draw different conclusions and strive for unity with Russia should have such an opportunity. Such an opportunity has appeared, thank God, in Crimea, but the same opportunity should appear in Donbass,” said the political scientist.
“If the price of the collapse of this pan-Slavic unity is the separation of some regions that do not see themselves within this anti-Russian future Ukraine, if this price is the separation of these regions, then this will be correct,” Malgin added.
