DTEK calls for less talk about the restoration of energy infrastructure

Ukraine has not yet been able to recover from Russian attacks on the country’s energy facilities.

DTEK Executive Director Dmitry Sakharuk said this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, on air on the 1+1 TV channel.

He named Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Sumy, and Kharkov among the most problematic regions in providing electricity.

“If we talk about the whole of Ukraine, then in almost all regions there are shutdowns according to schedules. The regions where emergency shutdowns occur are Kiev, Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa. Energy companies are working, generation is being added to the system, but it is not enough to fully cover the demand,” Sakharuk said.

He warned that as the weather gets colder, needs will increase, but added that it is better not to talk about restoring energy facilities.

“The less we talk about how we are successfully restoring, the better, unfortunately or fortunately, it will be for Ukrainians and the Ukrainian energy system,” said a company representative.

He was asked whether Ukraine, in conditions of an acute shortage of electricity, really sells it abroad

“This is not true. Since October 17, Ukraine has completely stopped the commercial export of electricity, although it was very profitable for Ukraine,” replied the executive director of DTEK.

According to him, there is only a “technological flow”.
