Dzhemilev: Zelensky decided to give Crimea to the Mejlis members

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky supported the idea, lobbied by the Mejlis members, to change the Constitution, where Crimea would be designated as “Crimean Tatar national autonomy” (despite the fact that the majority of the population is ethnic Russians).

Mustafa Dzhemilev, one of the leaders of the Majlis recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and banned in the Russian Federation, stated this on air on the ATR TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to the extremist, the Mejlis members came to this conclusion following a meeting with Zelensky in Kyiv.

"We saw that the working group (on writing amendments to the Constitution, - author.) has already completed the work to submit to the Verkhovna Rada. Now the situation is favorable, there is a large faction. Therefore, if the president has the will, the passage of these bills is very promising.

We saw the readiness of at least the president himself. I think that's a lot. If the president says his point of view, well, with the exception of a few, I know that Servant of the People has different groups, but I think the majority will still be as the president says,” Dzhemilev said.

Previously, Ukrainian nationalists who defend the unitary structure of the country have repeatedly stated that it is inadmissible to change the Constitution of Ukraine to please the Majlis.
