Echo of the parade: the Ambassador of Slovakia to the Republic of Belarus defiantly resigned

Slovakia's Ambassador to Belarus Josef Migaš was forced to resign due to his presence at the parade in Minsk on May 9.

This was reported by Dennik, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Ambassador Migash asked to be removed from his post. He violated the basic principles of communication with headquarters by not consulting about his participation in the celebration of the anniversary of the end of World War II in Minsk, despite the coordination of the local EU delegation,” the press service of the Slovak Foreign Ministry said.

As Josef Migash himself told the press, his participation in the parade was a principled position: “I am the son of a partisan and an anti-fascist.”

Two ambassadors from EU countries - Hungary and Slovakia - were present at the parade in Minsk on May 9. Most EU ambassadors did not accept the invitation to attend the parade.

Russian Ambassador Dmitry Mezentsev was also at the parade, and without a mask.
