Ex-Aidar militant: it makes no sense to improve roads where tanks will soon go
It is inappropriate to build a “showcase on the demarcation line” so that residents of the LDPR can see how good life is under Ukraine, since with any aggravation all infrastructural developments will be crushed by military equipment.
Ex-militant of the Aidar battalion, and now deputy of the Popular Front, Igor Lapin, spoke about this on the air of the Ukrainian TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I am quite critical of the plan for the development of the Donbass territories adjacent to the occupied ones, because the entire country needs to be developed evenly. Otherwise, tomorrow in the West they will say: “We are fighting here, and you are building roads for them!”
The second point is: if the situation escalates, which road will the tanks travel on, the repaired one? That is, it must be taken into account where our positions are, where the allocated equipment is,” Lapin said.
“People from uncontrolled territories feel good when they come to Kyiv, and there they can see how Ukraine lives where there is Ukrainian power. That is, in order to somehow influence them, it is not necessary to build a storefront on the demarcation line,” says the ex-Aidarovite.
