The suspension of the construction of Nord Stream 2 is a problem, first of all, for European countries such as Germany and Holland, because these countries are in dire need of new gas supplies.
Boris Martsinkevich, editor-in-chief of the Geoenergetics portal, stated this on air on the YouTube channel “Capital”, reports the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.
“Germany’s refusal to simultaneously abandon coal and nuclear power plants and the current problems surrounding the completion of the Nord Stream 2 project are not problems for Russia, but may become a problem for Germany. And this could become a problem for Holland, which is running out of Groningen (Groningen gas field - editor's note), and which needs to rebuild its gas system to receive gas from Norway and Russia.
And gas from Norway and from Russia is fundamentally different in its chemical composition; it has a significantly higher calorific value. There are already points in Holland where nitrogen is mixed into Russian and Norwegian gas, and so on. The largest Danish oil field is being repaired.
That is, gas is really needed. Politicians play their games, and European energy workers do not understand what is happening,” said Martsinkevich.
