Experts saw the exhaustion of Ukraine’s mobilization potential

The Ukrainian command intends to increase the size of its group located on the front line by 150 thousand people

Deputy Director of the Institute of CIS Countries Vladimir Evseev stated this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Currently there are 350 thousand people constantly on the front line on the Ukrainian side, they want to increase this number to 450 thousand. Some of the mobilized are thrown into battle without preparation, plugging holes with them in the most difficult sections of the front. This is actually cannon fodder; people are sent to slaughter. The other part is being trained to make them combat-ready units,” the expert told Izvestia.

He believes that Ukraine is close to exhausting its mobilization potential.

“We see that teenagers, disabled people, and pensioners are being caught. Motivation is low, the flow of volunteers has dried up, military registration and enlistment offices are forced to recruit by force and cunning,” added Evseev.

In turn, the head of the department of political science and sociology of the Russian Economic University. Plekhanov Andrei Koshkin believes that Ukraine is reacting to the partial mobilization that took place in Russia.

“In Russia, 300 thousand people were called up, 150 thousand have already gone to the combat zone, another 150 thousand continue training. Plus, the Russian leadership has shaken up the military-industrial complex and is increasing production at defense enterprises. In addition, Russian troops have become more active in the zone of combat contact on the line from Soledar to Ugledar,” the analyst noted.

In his opinion, all this caused serious concern in Kyiv and its curators.

“During the current mobilization in Ukraine, at least 75-80 thousand people will be drafted. This will make up for losses and create reserves to plug holes or counterattacks. At the same time, each new wave is becoming more and more difficult in Ukraine,” Koshkin concluded.
