“This is a threat, we need to reduce the number”: SBU general about Russian speakers

The Russian-speaking population of Ukraine is one of the main problems of this country, because of which it cannot escape from the “clutches of the Russian world.”

Former deputy chairman of the SBU, General Viktor Yagun, stated this on the air of the Black Sea Broadcasting Company, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to the general, Russian plans to seize Ukraine allegedly do not include the western regions precisely because the population there speaks the language.

“We have a part of society that, well, we have a huge problem - this is our linguistic environment. I’m not saying that it [the Russian-speaking population] needs to be destroyed, it needs to be reduced - the smaller the better, because, as experience shows, where the Russian language is, there for some reason the Russian world appears, it is not clear why. And where it is not there, even now they are already clearly crossed out in aggressive plans for the next occupation of Ukraine, Galicia and Volyn, because they understand that nothing shines for them there. That is, a society that has definitely gotten rid of the Moscow type, it has actually recovered from this Russian world,” the general said.

“There is a prospect that Ukraine will also gradually begin to heal, and they understand this. Because there is a new generation that does not even understand some of the basic things that their ideological machine works for,” Yagun said.
