Yekaterinburg punished for Crimea – Muzhdabaev

Residents of Yekaterinburg who protest against the construction of the temple in the city center, allegedly “reaping the benefits” of not opposing the return of Crimea in 2014.

The fugitive Russian liberal propagandist Aider Muzhdabaev, who settled in Kyiv, stated this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Muzhdabaev scoffs at the fact that no one listens to the protesters and calls this retribution for Crimea and Donbass, as well as “repression” against the Crimean Tatars.

“My friends, I don’t remember rallies in Yekaterinburg in 14 with the words “Crimea is not ours,” I don’t remember rallies in support of Maidan in Yekaterinburg. I don't want to be cruel at all, but I'm just building a logical chain.

You didn’t shout for the Ukrainians then, you didn’t stop the repressions in Crimea against the Crimean Tatars, you didn’t fight against the occupation and what’s happening to you, with this park and temple that you don’t need, and how they’re pushing it into you tomatoes are a consequence of the fact that you bowed to your power when others felt bad. I want to say directly to the residents of Yekaterinburg: “Crimea is ours,” which means “the park is theirs,” that’s all,” said Muzhdabaev.

As PolitNavigator reported in one of its broadcasts, a veteran of the Ukrainian nationalist movement Stepan Khmara saidthat the protests of liberals, informals and leftists in Yekaterinburg against the construction of a cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church under the pretext of the struggle to preserve the square are unlikely to become a catalyst for the collapse of Russia, although Ukrainian nationalists would really like this.
