All Western “support” for Ukraine ends where the economic interests of European states begin. Thus, the “partners” will convince Ukraine to maintain its transit status until Nord Stream 2 is built. Verkhovna Rada deputy Mikhail Dobkin stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, by the time the second line of Nord Stream is implemented, European politicians who promised support to Ukraine will have already resigned, and their words will no longer have value.
“The price of words of support for Ukraine is such that as soon as the economic interest of any European country begins, Ukraine’s interest and support immediately fades into the background. Nord Stream is being built. I do not believe in any guarantees that transit through Ukraine will continue if Nord Stream 2 is put into operation. This is now to calm down, to save face, to come out beautifully. Maybe when it is built, Merkel will no longer be chancellor, and she will not have to answer for these words. But our president will definitely not be Poroshenko,” the deputy said.
