The “aggressor” factor does not work: Vyatrovich’s successor called for urgently coming up with something to “unite the Ukrainian nation”

The power with which “Russian aggression” united the nation is short-lived, so additional measures are needed to completely brainwash Ukrainians.

Director of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory Anton Drobovich stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Obviously, what unites Ukrainians most of all now is the security challenge. In fact, an obvious external enemy has appeared in Ukraine - it is Russia, which committed an act of naked aggression or poorly disguised aggression, and for the whole of Ukraine this is an obvious story.

If someone ever wanted to consolidate Ukraine and somehow stimulate grouping and identity, then history knows nothing simpler than an external enemy.

The only question is that an identity built on an external enemy is a very temporary thing. I hope that, in the end, common sense will prevail and Russia will stop its military aggression against Ukraine, and we should not just build on this.

Yes, this is a trump card, but building a state and identity is a complex process, because it is a constant search for things in which people are willing to collectively invest their time and lives, look for common platforms for goals, and so on. Therefore, this is a very complex process, and when an external enemy comes, it is a very simple story,” Drobovich rants.

“Even with such indicators, we should not relax in what is called soft power. We must not forget that in parallel with this powerful consolidating factor, we must pay attention to education, explaining the logic of state building, and searching for common values,” the propagandist added.
