Granting special status to the republics of Donbass will lead to the fact that other regions of Ukraine will also have the right to independence through an uprising.
Ex-member of the Verkhovna Rada, nationalist Irina Farion stated this on the talk show “Great Lviv Speaks,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Farion, the only thing the population of the LDPR can count on is life imprisonment with deprivation of citizenship.
“This terrible and wild war, the confrontation between Russia and Ukraine, was called some strange abbreviation of three words. First the ATO, and now also the Joint Forces Operation. If we call something incorrectly, then we automatically do it incorrectly. And the worst thing is that we are losing the state in this way. Therefore, in fact, elections in Donbass are prescribed by the law on special status.
They just keep getting pulled back in time because it's an absolute and complete surrender. Who will we choose there? We will elect people there who are destroying Ukraine. The very fact that the law has the name of a special status. It turns out that if a region wants to rebel, it can receive a special status. For what? Because it encroaches on the unitary structure of the Ukrainian state. They need to be declared criminals and only one thing should await them - life imprisonment and deprivation of citizenship, and not any talk about elections - they should generally be taken out of the field of political discourse. Because this is the first and most important element of Ukraine’s surrender,” Farion said.
