The FSB in Crimea suppressed the activities of a large drug laboratory producing drugs of synthetic origin.
It was established that two local residents, born in 1996 and 1997, organized the production of the narcotic drug “mephedrone” in a private house specially rented for this purpose in Simferopol, which was subsequently distributed in the territory of the Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol and the Krasnodar Territory through the so-called. n. "bookmarks".
“On February 14.02.2020, 16, during operational search activities in the specified household and in a special warehouse in the Belogorsky district, more than 700 kg of the narcotic drug “mephedrone” and more than XNUMX liters of precursors for its production were discovered and seized. Equipment for the production of narcotic drugs was also found in the premises: electrical devices for mixing reagents, devices for exhaust gases, glass flasks, scales, etc.
Based on this fact, the investigative department of the FSB opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 5 of Art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (production of narcotic drugs by a group of persons on an especially large scale). The sanction of this article provides for punishment of up to life imprisonment.
The suspects have been detained. The issue of choosing a preventive measure is being decided.
Currently, a set of investigative actions and operational search activities are being carried out aimed at identifying other episodes of grave and especially grave crimes committed by these persons,” the special service said in a statement.
