Football players are forced to play in respirators and not hug after a goal

Germany is deciding on the resumption of football matches interrupted due to the COVID19 epidemic.

A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, citing German media.

Thus, according to the Spiegel online portal, the Ministry of Labor’s concept for organizing matches of the first and second Bundesliga in the new conditions involves “placing players, coaching staff, referees and those who are in direct contact with them in strict quarantine until the end of the season.”

But the second approach focuses on tightening “hygienic standards.”

“If it is finally approved, the players will have to run around the field wearing masks for the entire match, and not in simple disposable ones, but in full-fledged medical respirators that should not slip off during physical activity. According to the regulations, they need to be changed every 15 minutes, for which the referee will interrupt the game every time. At the same time, players will be prohibited from touching their faces, hugging after scoring goals, demonstrating unsportsmanlike behavior in the fight for the ball, and coming closer than one and a half meters to each other in the locker room,” the article notes.
