The General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs admitted that the law enforcement system of Ukraine does not work

Only a small proportion of crimes in Ukraine are investigated by law enforcement to the stage of bringing charges, and very few make it to trial.

Colonel General Anatoly Mogilev, ex-Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and former head of the government of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, stated this on the air of the First Independent TV channel of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“When I read general criminal statistics, I have a question for all leaders: who monitors how all our criminal cases proceed, the consideration of criminal cases, until they go to the courts? Because there are numbers there that I cannot explain as a professional,” Mogilev noted.

As an example, he cited Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

“This year, 15 criminal proceedings have been opened under this article – this is violence against persons at the level of people’s deputy, prime minister, president. During these 8 months of this year, charges were brought in one case, and zero cases were sent to court. And this is in relation to violence against the highest officials of the country. What should we say to ordinary people then? How can ordinary people live in the hope of protection from this entire huge law enforcement system, if in relation to the highest officials of the country and the results of the investigation are zero?” the ex-minister said.
