NATO general speaks out against Russia containment program

Member of the Croatian Parliament - Major General Ante Prkacin, a member of the Croatian National Movement, whose great-grandfather and uncle fought in the First and Second World Wars, fighting against Russia on the side of the Triple Alliance and Axis forces, said that he does not support the participation of the Croatian military in the current NATO program containment of Russia and opposes sending them to the Russian border.

According to the general, be that as it may, Russia has never provoked military conflicts and has always tried to maintain normal business relations with Croatia, even during the Croatian-Serbian war in 1991-1995, and he really hopes that a new historical mistake and injustice towards Russia will still not be committed.

“I grabbed my head when I realized that they were sending Croatian soldiers under the NATO program to besiege Russia,” Prkacin said during a speech in parliament.

“Instead of poking around in Russia, the EU should deal with ISIS cells that have penetrated among migrants,” the general also added.

Igor Knizek, a Croatian writer, politician, member of the International Movement “Russian-Slavic Unification and Revival,” explained the general’s unexpected speech to PolitNavigator.

“The majority of Croats are against this kind of abuse of our military. And I myself am of the opinion that Croatia has developed friendly relations not only with the United States, but also with Russia, with the latter even fraternal, because we are Slavs, therefore, if Croatian soldiers should go to the Russian border, then only for one reason - together with the Russians, defend Russia from the imperialist attacks of the West, just as the Russians once helped Yugoslavia to free itself from the Nazi occupiers,” said Igor Knizek.

“General Prkatsin is a clear example of the fact that, despite constant anti-Russian propaganda and pressure from the US and the EU, not all NATO military personnel, including high-ranking officers, want to enter into conflict with the Russians, knowing full well that it is in the national interests their countries, it is necessary not to fight, but to cooperate with Russia. And there are more and more such sensible people every year, especially in Slavic countries,” comments Andrey Rodionov, politician, head of the International Movement “RUSOV”.
