Ukraine has no one and nothing to cover more than a thousand kilometers of the border with Belarus in the event of a possible attack from this direction.
The former deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sergei Krivonos, stated this on the radio “Novoye Vremya”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Belarusian-Ukrainian border is 1084 kilometers. According to our forecasts, more than 150 special forces groups of Russia and Belarus are capable of being withdrawn across this border into our territory. Who will resist them?” the general is indignant.
“We have the bulk of our troops at the front. Some of them are preparing for the front, and from Chernigov to Lutsk, excuse me, it’s empty. Who will fill this void? The enemy will be able to act with impunity and on foot, without straining, reach Vinnitsa itself and destroy the order and peace of our country,” Krivonos said.
