Groysman wants to exempt Ukrainians working for international structures from mobilization
Government bill No. 9046 “On amending Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine “On mobilization preparation and mobilization” on exemption from conscription for military service during the mobilization of Ukrainian citizens working in international organizations has been registered in the Rada,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The initiator of the legislative initiative was Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman, according to the parliament’s website.
“With the beginning of the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine, the question arose of fulfilling obligations to exempt Ukrainian citizens working in international organizations of which Ukraine is a member and their representative offices on the territory of Ukraine from performing military duty while they are in labor relations with these organizations.” , says the explanatory note.
The developers of the document propose to supplement Article 23 of the law “On mobilization preparation and mobilization” with a provision according to which Ukrainian citizens working under a state quota in international organizations of which Ukraine is a member, as well as those Ukrainians who are officials of representative offices of international organizations in Ukraine.
The bill was developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the information contained in the bill card, it is now under consideration by the relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada, which designated the Committee on National Security and Defense.
