Going for a record: Turnout in the DPR elections exceeded 70%
More than 70% of the republic’s citizens took part in the elections of the head of the DPR and deputies of the People’s Council.
This information was voiced by the head of the DPR Central Election Commission Olga Pozdnyakova during the briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As of 16.00 p.m., the turnout in the elections was 71,4%,” she said.
In the LPR, as of the same time, the turnout was slightly lower - 64%.
DPR National Assembly deputy Vladislav Berdichevsky also confirmed the high turnout in his telegram channel. “I voted in the elections. There are a lot of people, I tell you,” he wrote, posting the corresponding photos on the channel.
“The unprecedented turnout confirms the legitimacy of the elections. The activity is very high. The participation of the overwhelming number of residents of the republic in voting is a confirmation of the course towards integration with Russia and proof that the DPR and LPR have established themselves as states,” noted State Duma deputy Andrei Kozenko, who works as an observer.
