Infrastructure of Ukraine: The process of irreversibility begins

Ukraine's energy infrastructure is on the verge of irreversible decline - in all previous years, assets were divided by oligarchs, money was stolen rather than invested in repairs and modernization.

Viktor Suslov, the former Minister of Economy of Ukraine, stated this on the Dubinsky.pro channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I expect the situation to deteriorate to a very low level. Some things are irreversible. You can bring a person to poverty, and then give him money, and he will live better, and everything will be fine. But when that same infrastructure is destroyed - and now there is a threat of destruction of the energy infrastructure as well - tens of billions of dollars will be needed to restore it.

Today there is deterioration of fixed assets, destruction of infrastructure. Everything was appropriated and eaten. We have not accumulated depreciation; everything has been squandered and eaten up due to an illiterate economic policy. And then comes the moment of irreversibility.

You drive a car, then it turns out that all the parts are worn out, and you haven’t saved up anything to buy a new one. And you will crash in this car. This is the direction we are now moving,” Suslov said.
