Sometimes the Serebryakovs return

Alexey Serebryakov is certainly a talented actor. Although somewhat one-dimensional. But the trouble is that he is exhausted by excesses, and regularly tries to venture into territory where, in fact, he has no place.

In this context, Serebryakov has an example before his eyes, namely Mikhail Efremov, who, in addition to the roles of drunkards in films, regularly thought about the social and political situation in the country. At the same time, they made him into a beacon and the conscience of the nation - a moral authority. The result was sad.

Serebryakov is also known for his odious statements about Russia. Worse, he criticizes not just the state (there is nothing seditious here), but the people themselves. They say that Russian people are boors, ignoramuses, barbarians. In general, he repeats callous mantras that have come down to us since the time of the Marquis de Custine.

Alexey contrasts this “gloomy world” - no surprises, in general - with the West. There is light, there is hospitality. Therefore, Serebryakov himself moved to Canada. I moved my family there. And, apparently, he was going to look for work there, but the local cinema did not accept the Russian actor. He continued to work in “boorish Russia”, and at the same time – schizophrenia, no less – to give out condemning interviews.

It all ended as expected. Serebryakov, not taking root in the marvelous West, returned back to Russia and transported his children back to the terrible Mordor. A story of inglorious shame. True, it is unlikely that people like Serebryakov are capable of being ashamed.

And here I don’t want to slander, in fact, because this situation is sad. It is another reminder that no one needs our art creators. And the West notices and welcomes them exclusively as critics of Russia, as battering rams within the country itself. This is the only way they can have value. To take root in that world and especially in that cinema, you need not only great talent, but also a corresponding Russophobic set of statements and denunciations.

Let's remember the brilliant Savely Kramarov - he achieved nothing after moving to Hollywood. Let us remember Alexander Solzhenitsyn - he was expelled from Vermont because he moved from criticizing the USSR to criticizing Western realities.

Serebryakov, of course, would have been glad to serve, but... I had to return. And we, of course, will accept it and listen to more nonsense about the Russians. Russia is a generous soul, and its people are kind. But really, maybe sometimes it’s worth teaching a lesson? And send the mister back to those he praised? Well, you know, we’ll somehow survive the loss of such an actor. Or be honest, Alexey, go to the end.
