Integration with the Russian Federation will be declared legally void - Minsk expert

The leadership of the Russian Federation allegedly realizes that there are no prospects for relations with the current President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko.

A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets, said pro-Western Minsk observer Alexander Klaskovsky, who supports the Belarusian Maidan activists.

According to him, Lukashenko “has become too toxic a partner for the Kremlin.”

“Moscow understands that there are no prospects for relations with the current ruler of Belarus. It is risky to sign agreements with him on deepening integration, because the new government will declare them legally void,” says the publication’s interlocutor.

According to him, now “there is an increase in tension between Minsk and Moscow, because Lukashenko is trying to evade his promises that he made in Sochi.”

“He hopes that he will be able to slip through this political crisis,” notes Klaskovsky.

Let us recall that in Sochi, during a meeting with the President of the Russian Federation, Lukashenko promised to begin a constitutional reform that would curtail the powers of the head of the Belarusian state.
