In Kyiv-controlled Slavyansk, multiple factual errors were discovered on one of the erected monuments to destroyed ATO militants.
The corresponding video recording was published on the local S-plus channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“After the fighting in 2014 in the Slavyansk region, thanks to volunteers, many memorial signs appeared to the fallen ATO participants. One of these, in memory of three soldiers of the 95th airmobile brigade, was installed in the BZS area. However, over time it became clear that there were errors in the inscription,” the report says.
“Head of the Culture Department of the Slavic City Council” Marina Oleynik noted that there were errors in the monument, which were corrected only after receiving a letter from the military units of the victims.
“We turned to the military units whose representatives died and there are letters from these organizations with the data of these fighters. There are mistakes in surnames and even ranks in the monument,” she said.
At the moment, the monument, restored by one of the local entrepreneurs, has already been returned to its place, and now the process of transferring it to municipal ownership is underway.
