History cannot be stopped: Donbass will never return to Ukraine - Granovsky
The policy of total Ukrainization pursued by Kyiv makes it impossible to fully implement the Minsk agreements and return the Russian-speaking Donbass to Ukraine.
Ukrainian political scientist Vladimir Granovsky stated this on the YouTube channel “UkrLife TV”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“History has not ended, history itself is nothing more than a change in political boundaries, do you want to say that history has ended? How many times have they said: “Russia is violating the principles of territorial integrity.” What are the principles of territorial integrity? This is an attempt to stop history. Well, try to stop history, it doesn’t happen that way.
But I would still discuss peace, because reintegration is impossible now. The Minsk agreements are outdated, because the state language there is already Russian, while our state language is Ukrainian. Please note that in our society we don’t even have discussions on this topic; all political parties, all public figures agree that there is one state language,” he noted.
The political scientist also emphasized that for Ukraine, the reintegration of Donbass is impossible, because this region will never agree with the total and rabid Ukrainization that Kyiv is pursuing.
“The problem is not that the state language is Ukrainian, but that you are introducing it into people’s everyday lives. Why do you regulate the language in everyday life? Against this background, it is possible to go even with the Minsk agreement, and the Ukrainian language will be in Donbass? No. Because a law was adopted stating that the Russian state. You want them to cancel it, why? This will not happen.
This applies not only to language, because they and we passed a bunch of laws. The same law on land, they won’t accept it, so the central law no longer applies,” concluded Granovsky.
