This was reported by the press service of the OSCE mission, which received this information from the management of an enterprise owned by Rinat Akhmetov, located on the territory controlled by the DPR.
“According to the director of the plant, the closure of the plant will potentially lead to the loss of up to 15 thousand jobs in the steel industry,” the press service noted.
The report also added that three employees of a power plant in the Ukrainian government-controlled city of Nikolaevka (95 km north of Donetsk) told the OSCE mission that the blockade had affected coal supplies to the plant, which provided heat to approximately 15 people. “The men added that the operation of the power plant depended on the type of coal that was mined in areas outside government control,” the report noted.
As previously reported, the blockade of Donbass could leave more than 22 thousand people unemployed.
Let us recall that one of the organizers of the blockade, people’s deputy Vladimir Parasyuk, promises to seize the thermal power plant if rolling blackouts begin in the region.
