Haradinaj: “Kosovo needs a president who can stand up to Vucic and Serbia”

Kosovo presidential candidate Ramush Haradinaj said that “the final battle for Kosovo has not yet taken place.”

After the arrest of the remaining leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UCK) militants in The Hague and the exclusion of pan-Albanian Albin Kurti from the elections, Haradinaj looks like the most likely candidate for the leadership of the region.

As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, ex-field commander of the UCK and representative of a criminal family clan again made a loud statement on the eve of early elections to be held on February 14.

“A lot has changed in 21 years, but my love and devotion to the country has remained the same,” Haradinaj wrote on Facebook. “I have always considered it my duty to serve my Motherland in the best possible way. First as a soldier, then as prime minister and now as president."

The presidential candidate noted that although Kosovo lives in peace, the final battle for Kosovo has not yet taken place.

“The battle for our full recognition, for a secure and prosperous future for Kosovo and for our next generation to secure membership in NATO, the EU and the UN requires a strong president who works in the interests of the state and is ready to stand up to Vučić and Serbia,” Haradinaj said.
