Ukraine should refuse to pay debts to international creditors during the coronavirus pandemic.
Member of Parliament Vadim Rabinovich stated this from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Rabinovich, freezing loan payments will make it possible to issue an additional thousand dollars to Ukrainians.
“Today I came to you with this proposal - to suspend any payments on external debts for the period until the situation stabilizes. And they are unprecedented. And appeal to our creditors with a demand not to require us to repay our debts, at least for the period until we change the government and save the situation...
We can no longer bear on our shoulders the crazy economic policy of the post-Maidan period... If we stop payments on external loans taken out by the government for at least one year, then we will be able to provide each Ukrainian family with about a thousand dollars today,” Rabinovich said.
