Kyiv transfers National Guardsmen from Donbass to suppress miners' rally

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, ordered the allocation of almost two hundred National Guardsmen from Slavyansk and Mariupol for transfer to Kyiv.

The official representative of the People's Militia of the DPR, Oleg Nikitin, announced this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We have information that the 15th and 17th separate battalions of the National Guard of Ukraine, stationed in the cities of Slavyansk and Mariupol, received instructions to prepare 90 people each for departure to Kyiv in order to suppress civilians demonstrations by coal workers, dissatisfied with the actions of the government, which led to months of delays in salaries,” Nikitin said.

According to him, these instructions were given personally by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov.

“The nationalists have been unofficially given the command to identify activists among the protesting miners and put pressure on them in order to suppress mass rallies,” added the representative of the defense department.
