The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved amendments to the law “On state support of the media”, according to which Ukrainian printed publications will be delivered to subscribers in the Kyiv-controlled territories of Donbass at preferential prices.
The corresponding initiative was made by the head of the Committee on Freedom of Speech and Information Policy, Victoria Syumar, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are talking about benefits for the delivery of printed publications in the most difficult territories for Ukraine, the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. There is no need to say that Russian propaganda is seriously working there; this law is intended to make it possible not to raise Ukrposhta tariffs and deliver printed publications at preferential prices to consumers in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions,” the politician said.
Based on the voting results, this bill was adopted by a majority - 235 out of 349 deputies voted in favor.
