“Kolomyia is Europe”: The town took second place in the number of deaths in the ATO
The town of Kolomyia in Western Ukraine, which became famous in the post-Soviet space thanks to the Euromaidan banners “Kolomyya is Europe,” became second after Ivano-Frankivsk in the number of local residents killed in the ATO.
This was stated by Vice Governor Igor Pasichnyak.

“There is a huge number of dead there. One of the biggest. Ivano-Frankivsk has the most, and then comes Kolomyia and the Kolomyia region. There are a huge number of wounded, a huge number of ATO participants who are now on the front line,” he said.
At the same time, the official noted with regret that the local population is showing surprising apathy in matters of helping the wounded and the families of the dead.
“The atmosphere there is not good... there is extremely little work. We didn’t think that it could be so bad in Kolomyia,” Pasichnyak said.
