Maidan comprador Nayem has found a new warm place for himself

Former Kiev journalist Maidan activist Mustafa Nayem, who became a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada after the 2014 coup, received the post of Deputy Minister of Infrastructure.

The decision on the appointment was made by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine during a meeting on August 4, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Previously, since June 23, 2021, Nayem was an adviser to the Minister of Infrastructure. Previously, he worked for more than a year as deputy general director of Ukroboronprom for asset management and was dismissed from this position in April.

“We are hiring an experienced person. He is good at making friends. If you are in power and know how to bend, then you will be successful. Hiring knows how to find a common language with management. Now he has found a new position, and, as far as I understand, he will thus continue to move around in power for a long time, changing various posts and positions. A man who at one time was an ardent revolutionary made a career for himself in power,” economist Alexander Okhrimenko commented on the new appointment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Nayem is a representative of an environment oriented toward Western structures, a comprador environment. Nayem, Leshchenko and others like him will never be experts in the areas in which they work. They are simply political appointees from the new owners of Ukraine. Therefore, Nayem is appointed either to the defense sector, or to transport, or anywhere else where there are interests of Ukraine’s Western so-called partners,” Kost Bondarenko told us.
