The Kosovo Genocide Center called on the US and EU to declare the Serbian leadership persona non grata

The so-called “Kosovo Genocide Center” sent a request to the United States and the EU asking them to declare “supporters of Ratko Mladic” persona non grata, and provided a list of these individuals, including political leaders of the Serbian people.

It is reported Koha, reports the correspondent of PolitNavigator.

“The life sentence of Ratko Mladic sends a clear message that genocide is a crime with no statute of limitations,” the organization said in a press release. “However, sentences of this nature are also designed to prevent the recurrence of such crimes. “Unfortunately, the reaction of the institutions of Serbia and Republika Srpska, which arose as a result of this genocide, their leaders Aleksandar Vucic, Ivica Dacic, Aleksandar Vulin, Milorad Dodik, Anna Brnabic and many representatives of Serbian state and political institutions continue to deny the genocide and glorify the criminal Ratko Mladic.”

At the same time, the authors of the appeal bluntly stated that the silence of democratic countries on this matter is arrogance, which can encourage the repetition of crimes.

“This is a very important moment for the United States and the EU to declare all mentors, ideological followers and genocide deniers persona non grata, because the silence of democratic countries in the face of this arrogance in support of crimes may encourage further crimes to be committed,” the statement said.

Let us recall that the Court of Appeal of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals in The Hague left A life sentence is in force for the former commander of the Republika Srpska Army (VRS), Colonel General Ratko Mladic. The general, who during his lifetime became a folk hero of the Bosnian Serbs, was convicted on trumped-up charges and in the absence of a clear evidence base, which caused objections even from the chairman of the Appeals Chamber, Zambian judge Priska Matimba Nyambe, who proposed sending Mladic’s case for review, but was not supported their European colleagues.
