This was stated by Ukrainian military expert, deputy director of the Army Research Center, Mikhail Samus, quoted by Gazeta in Ukrainian.
“Until January 20, Russia has a free hand. This is the day of the inauguration of the new US President Donald Trump... Now there is no force in the world that could oppose Putin. Except for the Ukrainian army. In Donbass, as in Syria, Moscow will try to get the most trump cards in order to bargain in the future. Therefore, we can predict an escalation or even a widespread offensive in other sectors of the front,” says Samus.
He previously stated that Moscow is planning an attack on Kyiv with the encirclement of the main group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donbass, and also announced the idea of a non-aligned status for Ukraine Kremlin hybrid weapon.
