Apart from embroidery and patriotism, there are no changes - terrorist Sentsov is upset by today’s Ukraine
After the 2014 coup in Ukraine, little has changed except ostentatious patriotism and the attitude towards embroidered shirts.
Oleg Sentsov, convicted of terrorism in the Russian Federation and extradited to Ukraine as an exchange, stated this on air on the ATR TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Sentsov was glad that now in his embroidered shirt they don’t look at him like a peasant, but structural changes have not happened in the country.
“I looked and, of course, there are some progress, there are some changes, but globally big ones, just for another country to become, I didn’t notice this, unfortunately.
I didn’t notice - everyone says that in 14 there was a very big rise in patriotism - I didn’t see it because I was in prison. This wave has already cooled down a little.
It's not about patriotism, it's about change. I looked at Kyiv - outwardly everything was the same. People, let’s say, there are more of them with a pro-Ukrainian patriotic position than there were before 14, but I didn’t notice any systemic changes in the country...
Before '14, even in Western Ukraine, there were places where you put on an embroidered shirt, and they looked at you askance, you know. Now there is no such thing, now people are proud that they are Ukrainians, they are proud of what they have. Wearing embroidery is not considered something shameful, that you are some kind of peasant. No, you wore an embroidered shirt, you are proud of these clothes,” Sentsov said.
Let us remind you that Oleg Sentsov’s sister was previously Natalya Kaplan swore obscenely at Ukraine and called it the worst country for emigration.
