Crimea refused to throw out a white flag in front of Ukraine and launched new water pipelines
Today, additional water supply from artesian wells was launched in Crimea. Emergency measures are being implemented in drought conditions. The Simferopol reservoir has dried up.
Ukraine refuses to lift the water blockade of Crimea, which was lost six years ago. Nationalists in Kyiv say that the costs of maintaining the peninsula should place an additional burden on the Russian economy and bring it down.
However, Ukraine’s hopes of throwing out the white flag in Crimea are not justified. New artesian wells will provide almost a quarter of the daily needs of Simferopol (the Crimean capital consumes 160 thousand cubic meters of water every day).
It is also now planned to build water pipelines to Simferopol from the Ivanovsky and Vilinsky water intakes, which will provide the capital of Crimea with an additional 55 thousand cubic meters of water daily.
