Crimea lags behind the rest of Russia in its development

Six years after reunification with the Russian Federation, Crimea has failed to reach the national average income level.

The correspondent of PolitNavigator reports this, writes Komsomolskaya Pravda, referring to the audit of the Accounts Chamber regarding the implementation of state programs in Crimea and Sevastopol.

“The average monthly nominal accrued salary in these regions in 2022 is planned at 38,3 thousand rubles, while, according to Rosstat, already at the end of 2018, the average salary in the country was 43,4 thousand rubles,” the document notes. .

In turn, the director of the Institute of Economics and Management of the Crimean Federal University named after Vernadsky, Viktor Reutov, calls not to exaggerate.

“In 2015, the average monthly nominal accrued salary in Crimea was 22 rubles. This was at the level of 440% of the all-Russian figure. Now the average salary in the region has risen to 60% of the national average and is more than 75 thousand. According to forecasts, our gross regional product will increase this year, although a decline is predicted for the country as a whole. That is, Crimea is moving towards a standard of living and economics that is average in Russia. Maybe not as fast as we would like, but the trend is positive,” says Reutov.
