Comparing the situation in Crimea and Ukraine with reference to Belarus is an information provocation.
Russian Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Babich stated this at a press conference in Minsk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are seeing an attempt to draw similar parallels in the information space. I want to say that this is just an example of open cynical information provocation. There is no correlation between the events in Crimea in 14 and our relations with the Republic of Belarus, not even close.
In 14, everything would not have happened in Crimea, most likely, if not for those events and those actions of the Ukrainian authorities and those who controlled them from the outside, in relation to Ukraine itself and the Russian-speaking population. This is a spontaneous event, which, fortunately, happened in a fairly civilized manner, bloodlessly, without losses and with a good end result. Everything else is information sabotage, which has completely understandable goals,” Babich said.
