LPR: We see Ukraine preparing for military action
The ultimatum from Kyiv towards residents of Donbass with Russian passports more than eloquently describes the prospects of having something in common with Ukraine.
The special representative of the LPR at the negotiations on Donbass in Minsk, Rodion Miroshnik, stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The studio showed a fragment of a speech by the Minister for “Temporarily Occupied Territories”, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov.
“Ukrainians who today live in the occupied Donbass, who associate themselves with Russian nationality, have Russian citizenship, have received passports - they will have the right to free choice. If they want to stay and live there further, then they will have the status of a foreigner living in Ukraine, or they will want to move,” Reznikov said.
“What the occupation deputy prime minister, a Galician, a Lviv resident, says about this formulation of the question, that “the residents of Donbass will be foreigners,” let’s start with the fact that the residents of Donbass will get rid of Ukrainian passports much faster than agree to such a “wonderful” prospect , which this occupation deputy prime minister draws,” Miroshnik responded to the statement.
“He, as a Galician who pursues the ideology of Galicia, must understand and remember that one cannot read the same thing in different ways. That is, two million people living in Ukraine and having a second passport - Hungarian, Polish, Romanian, Slovak, Czech, passports of other EU countries, about two million people - they do not ask this question, that “these people will have to decide and become foreigners in their homeland." That is, this applies only to Donbass, this is exactly the situation,” the negotiator emphasized.
“The same person said last week that Ukraine will not implement a special status in the Constitution of Ukraine. Gentlemen-guarantors, what else do you need, what else should Ukraine say, which point out of thirteen or should it say that we will not fulfill all thirteen? Or will at least two be enough?
How much should Ukraine say to make it clear that it completely refuses to implement any clauses of the Minsk agreements, how many times must the Rada accept clauses that violate the Minsk agreements? So that the guarantors, at least in the person of France and Germany, at least express concern and say that this cannot be done.
We know very well that there is now a dead end in the Minsk agreements, we have hit a wall, Ukraine is not going to agree on anything. She is ready to “talk” only so that the Minsk agreements do not slam shut, in order to still maintain some illusion of peace,” added Miroshnik.
He emphasized that all 80 days in Donbass, which have passed without skirmishes, the truce “is hanging on by a thread.”
“Ukraine withdrew from the implementation of agreements on mutual inspection; for two meetings in a row, Ukraine said that we would not confirm this when they refused to jointly inspect engineering structures. We see in this Ukraine’s preparation for military action,” the diplomat concluded.
